This tour of Southwest Utah begins and ends in Las Vegas.

Ditch the crowds: Our Southern Utah Hiking Highlights 5 day Hiking Adventure will run during the months of March/April/May/Oct/Nov/Dec, departing on Mondays and returning to Las Vegas on Fridays. You are free to join us in St. George and arrange your own transportation and skip the first and return trip to Las Vegas.

This tour is perfect for the guests looking for moderate hiking distances, while seeing high quality areas and beating the crowds. We will hike around 4-6 miles per day on average and about 4-5 hours of total time. Scenery will change daily on the tour and we have picked out 5 great days for you to consider. These are small group tours from 3-10 people, allowing us the flexibility to find the best hiking area for the best day. Featuring off the beaten path locations, we will rarely run into any crowds and the combination of solitude and scenery make this a great tour to consider. Our host hotel is The Advenire in St George, Utah and we will leave every morning from there.

Day 1. Meet your group in the lobby of The Mirage Hotel at 9am. From here we depart for a 1 hour drive to the Spring Mountains National Recreation Area. Your guide will lead you on a scenic but easy hike of 1-2 hours high above and away from the traffic and heat of Las Vegas. Our hiking trail passes through nice forest scenery. You’ll discover what thrives in this high-altitude desert climate. After a few hours, we will have lunch out in nature before heading to our St. George hotel to wind down for the day. Dinner on your own.

Day 2. Meet your group in the Advenire Hotel located in St George at 10am for a meet and greet where we will go over all of our Utah hikes and answer any questions you may have. Today we will hike the Vortex, located just outside of Ivins, Utah and about a 30-minute drive from the hotel. On the way to our hike are some of the best examples of Native American rock art in the area. We’ll take the 2 mile (3 km) trail to Anasazi Ridge to see these petroglyphs. We then continue on our journey to the trailhead of the Vortex near the Red Mountain Wilderness. After our hike, we will stop at a local favorite: Veyo Pies for something sweet to try, as well as lunch. Don’t fear the calories though because we are going to do another short hike before returning to the hotel. That hike will lead us up a small volcano that offers great views of Snow Canyon State Park.

Day 3. Meet your group in the Advenire Hotel located in St George at 9am. Departing for a short drive up to the Dixie National Forest we will hike the colorful Candy Cliffs. This will be around a 4-6 mile walk with a 500-700 foot (150-215 m) elevation gain/loss. We will be hiking through sand and rock to the edge of Yant Flat offering spectacular views of the colorful sandstone cliffs below. The hiking trail is considered moderate and total time on the ground is around 4 hours.

Day 4. Meet the group in the lobby at 9am. Today our adventure takes us close to Zion National Park. Our hike is to Eagle Crags just south of Zion but with scenic views of all the major peaks of the park, as well as the main canyon itself. Walking through a desert forest of Pinion and Juniper trees, we will be hiking around 6 miles today with a 900 foot (275 m) gain/loss towards the base of the spires of Eagle Crags. Here we will be rewarded with views of the park very few ever see. Our pace will allow for many scenic photos and shade breaks. The towers of Eagle Crags can be seen from miles away, including driving in and out of the park itself. Great photos of Zion from this vantage point.

Day 5. Today we will depart our hotel for an adventure to Water Canyon located inside Canaan Mountain Wilderness. Water Canyon is cut from flowing water that has accumulated high above Canaan Mountain. Our hike will take us past riparian zones as well as cliffside trails with big, long views of the canyon. Water Canyon Arch is a prominent but rarely seen arch near our hiking trail. Total distance today will range from 4-6 miles. Elevation gain will be around 1,200 feet (365 m). We will return in the late afternoon.

After the hike, we’ll swing by the hotel, pick up our luggage, and head back to Las Vegas.

Pricing for Full tours: $1499 per person, with a minimum of 3, plus cost of hotel room choice.
Pricing for Partial Tours: $899 per person plus hotel costs. If you prefer to skip the Las Vegas portion you may join days 2-5 with no return to Las Vegas.
You may also stay at another location if you wish, but all tours will meet at the Advenire Hotel.
